Summer is finally on its way and with the sunshine comes oh-so many vintage events to pencil into your calendar. Whether you like to party with flowers or pin curls in your hair, there’s now a vintage fair, festival and soiree to suit everyone.
KENDALL CALLING – 1st-3rd August
Located in the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District, Kendall Calling is on a much smaller scale than some of the longer running stalwarts of festivaldom. We’re talking amazing music, food, setting and entertainment – all with of a good side order of vintage fashion. Their onsite market always has some great vintage sellers as well as a few new brands to boot. With some big-hitters already lined-up for this year (Example and 2ManyDJ’s to name but a few), we’ll certainly be heading to this one...
THE VINTAGE FESTIVAL – 26th-27th July
If you’d rather be hitting the dance floor than a field this summer, then head up north as The Vintage Festival returns to Glasgow for its second year. Brought to you by the team behind Vintage at Goodwood, The Vintage Festival not only boasts a large scale vintage market but also three club nights with an era in music to suit every vintage inclination. We’ll be donning our 60s micro mini for the Soul Casino night.
STYLIST’S RAIL – Every month
Can’t make it to a weekend long event? Be sure to make time for one of the many events up and down the country which play host to some of our lovely Marketplace Boutiques. A monthly essential for East London’s crowd is the ever popular Stylist’s Rail. Run by the achingly cool Victoria Plum, this little lady knows her stuff and her choice edit of vintage sellers, stylists and new brands never fails to impress. Hit the rails for amazing brands and vintage, and hit the bar for complimentary gin cocktails – these always go down well with Team Marketplace! Check their website for event dates.
Last but certainly not least, Judy’s Affordable Vintage are hosting dates up and down the country this summer for ardent shoppers who are serious about their vintage. A melting pot of vintage fashion, homeware and textiles with everything from 1920s tea sets to 1980s power suits – any vintage maven worth their salt has Judy’s pencilled into their shopping calendar. We’ll certainly be heading along to their newly announced weekly vintage fairs just off Brick Lane, that’s our Sunday’s sorted for quite some time!
